My Digital Studio

I have been sharing my excitement about the Stampin’ Up digital program MyDigital Studio with lots of people but have found that when they ask me for more details I can’t seem to find them.

So I thought I would do a post with the details and share some of the things I have been doing with it.

MDS meets Christmas

I made this card using MDS. I had stumbled across a tutorial from 'Kewl' Stamps-n- More by Julie at http://youtu.be/HV5meCHUlxc and was amazed at how Julie had been able to brayer using MDS. Also check out how she put the snow on the branches. You must have a look at her video and have a go. It's a great way to learn more about the more advanced features of the program as well. It was such fun!

 

This is another MDS card. I cased this one from Lesley's Craft room at lesleyscraftroom.blogspot.com/2013/09/crumb-cake-snowflake.html. I would have liked it better if the image hadn't turned out so thick like the stamped image did in the original but I still think it is effective with the white gel pen.

 

 

And this is the Wishing You digital image. It is so easy to colour each present differently.

 

 

 

Looks great with Bermuda Bay and Strawberry Slush

 

Or make it more monochrome with Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana and Basic Black.

Oh dear I can't stop seeing more possibilities for this digital stamp set. On this one I cropped the presents apart and re-arranged them in different sizes and colours on Naturals White cardstock. Such fun!

Narrow front panel card design

Today I have another simple card design suitable for the beginner. This one works best I think on a narrow card front. To do this all you do is cut the A4 card into 2 in the opposite direction to the usual arrangement.

This is the usual way an A4 sheet is cut to produce 2 cards

But try this other way for a change. It produces a slightly longer, narrower card which is very elegant. You still get the 2 cards from one piece of A4 card. 

The panel can be any width desired and again can dressed up or down. It can be plain card or Designer paper or an embossed scrap.

Examples 

The cards were such fun to make as I was experimenting with my new My Design Studio ( MDS) software and my new Epsom Artisan 1430 printer. My old faithful HP printer was finally declared dead and unfixable and after a time of mourning I decided on the Epsom. So far it is amazing. Great photo quality and so true to Stampin' Up colours. 

I printed a piece of whisper white with the background and then on another sheet did the front panel. I did this separately so I could attach the panel with dimensionals and add a real ribbon to make a hybrid card. So easy and great fun!!

I am having an absolute ball with MDS actually. I have tried digital scrapbooking in the past with a 3 different scrapbooking programs plus Adobe Photoshop Elements and each time gave it away as too difficult. I guess it makes it easier as I am so familiar with our Stampin Up colours, stamps,  punches and embellishments.
