Tags, Tags and More Tags

I just love making tags. They make a present look special and they are fun and quick
to make. This year I used the new Chalk Talk stamp set with the matching Chalk
 Talk dies. The ones above were made with the Pennant Parade stamp set and the
Petite Pennants Parade punch. Doesn't Calypso Coral and Gumball Green go
well with Crumb Cake cardstock?

This die shape is great to use around the neck of a present like below.

The thin die is an unusual shape but they look quite cute. The 'to and from' sentiment

 is from the Tag It stamp set and I will be using it on all my tags, either on the back 

or front.

The Seasons of Style paper stack designs are bright highlights in these tags. I found
 it easier to cut a strip of cardstock a little wider than the die and adhere the DSP
and the contrast red strip to it before running it though the Bigshot using the bigger
  Tag It die. This makes a clean cut of all the layers. The 1 inch Cherry Cobbler
grosgrain ribbon is folded into a bow and attached above the christmas tree.

I am not really into Santa Clause but I know a lot of people are so I did some
of these cute images from the Tag It stamp set. I coloured just the Santa using
a Real Red and Basic Black markers and cut it out with a square punch.

I did the same with this one but this time I also coloured the ends with Gumball 
Green.

Love the new Bermuda Bay.

Washi tape is great for tags. I applied the tape first to a strip of cardstock before

 running it through the Big Shot.

I loved using the reindeer from the Warmth and Wonder on these tags. Stamping 

off gives these a nice effect.

Christmas Collectibles could be used in all sorts of designs on tags.

In this card I used Whisper White cardstock punching a square out. The frame 

was made using the Squares Dies Collection. The image was placed under the

 square and the white card was attached using dimensionals. A couple of 

strips of Washi tape and a clay button complete this fun card

Final one for the day was another Santa mounted on a piece of Stylish Stripes 
embossed cardstock. A piece of Gumball green ribbon finishes this off.

Merry and More

I had not been looking forward to using the new Thinlit Expression dies because
 I thought they might be hard to use as they produce such a fine die cut. But I was
 pleasantly surprised and had no problem releasing the foil cardstock from the die.
 Just love this foil as the result is really classy. I printed the snowflakes from the
 MDS stamp set Festive Flurry.

This is a case from Mary Fish. Very simple and effective.

This is the negative left over after the sentiment is pushed out. Just make sure you 

keep the bit from inside the y and the e and glue them on. The ornaments were made

 with the Mosaic punch. The snowflake from Warmth and Wonder was stamped 

and punched for the central part of the design.

This time the negative image was matted with Gumball Green cardstock and then

 mounted onto a sheet from Seasons of Style paper stack.

The silver foil goes well with the silver ribbon. The ornament punch was used to 

cut the ornament and then the snowflake was stamped from the Christmas 

Collectibles in Island Indigo to make a pretty centre. Coastal Cabana and 

Smokey Slate make such a pretty combination.

The card base is Island Indigo (despite looking like Midnight Muse). The silver foil die cut is mounted first on Coastal Cabana and and then onto Winter Frost DSP. A Clay button and silver ribbon finish off the card.

An example of the second die in this set. This time gold foil is used for the sentiment.
 The cardstock is Naturals Ivory. The other colours are Crisp Cantaloupe and
Pistachio Pudding. Isn't the ruffled ribbon a lovely finishing touch? The bottom is
embossed with Delicate Designs embossing folder.

This time I used Baked Brown Sugar cardstock, run through the Stylish Stripes 
embossing folder. The sentiment is mounted onto Crisp Cantaloupe. The leaves
are from the Bird punch and the flower is from Boho Blossoms punch.
I found the thankful die was a little tricky to release the cut. I took the suggestions
on the net and used waxed paper between the cardstock and the die and presto
no sticking and the die cut popped out when poked through the small release
 holes on the other side.
I think these dies will be very well used!

Joyful Christmas

I have been looking forward to using the Joyful Christmas stamp set.. I wasn't too fussed when I saw it in the Holiday catalogue at first until I saw how people were using it.
I just love Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla together. I embossed the pointsettia from this set in white on vellum cardstock, cut it out and coloured the back of the image with a Cherry Cobbler marker. I attached this to some Crumb Cake card embossed with the Square Lattice embossing folder. I added the sentiment which I had printed from the MDS program and finished it off with some Cherry Cobbler seam binding.

In this card I stamped the image onto Very Vanilla with Cherry Cobbler. I stamped another image on some scrap card and cut it out to use as a mask. (I find it is better to cut slightly inside of the line when making a mask as this prevents a gap which you get otherwise when stamping over a mask.)
I then stamped the leaf several times over the mask to make the leaves appear behind the flower.

A single stamp but such an elegant look. I punched a small hole to thread the ribbon through. The sentiment is embossed in gold.

The sentiment from this stamp set seems to stamp perfectly straight each time with very little trying. Not sure why.

The embossed vellum flower this time is set against Cherry Cobbler card embossed with Stylish Stripes embossing folder, matted with Early Expresso and mounted on Crumb cake.

I just love the white on white effect. I embossed the sentiment with Pewter embossing powder and used Smokey Slate for the leaves. The flower was embossed twice and the second flower was cut so the middle portion could be attached over the first one to make it more dimensional

Another case, this time from Starzimom28 at Splitcoast stampers. Love the Smokey Slate with Whisper White. Frosted finishes embellishments really completes this elegant design. This time the pointsettia is embossed in pewter.

Again this time I used white to emboss the flower and set it against some Winter Frost DSP. I used the Naturals White cardstock for the base.

Another variation using the WinterFrost Paper stack.

Gold embossing this time on Crumb Cake card.

Finally I embossed this one using white embossing powder and then Heated it Using a blender pen and an ink pad (giving the pad a squeeze before opening it and using the little pool of ink in the lid) I coloured in the petals. I left it darker where I first started each leaf and this gave a more natural variation on the colour.
I have decided this stamp may possibly win my vote for favourite christmas stamp this year!
