Sleigh Ride Edgelit dies

This has to be one of the best die sets in a long time. It is such fun! It can be used for all sorts of scenes both Christmassy and for many other types of cards.

What an interesting combination of colours. Lost Lagoon and Pear Pizzaz look great together. I am finding the new embossing folder Softly Falling looks effective when dry embossed and then brayered on the debossed side with a strong colour. The Sentiment was stamped from Lots Of Joys and then punched with the hexagon punch.
This beautiful card is cased from Trina Kozar. Silver glimmer paper, Smokey Slate and Pool Party are the colours of the die cuts and the card base is Very Vanilla. The stars were embossed in silver using the Wonderland set.
Night of Navy and Garden Green were set off by matting the panel with Real Red. The Softly Falling embossing folder was used again and Whisper White card was brayered with Night of Navy to show a sky full of brilliant stars. I coloured the trees from the diecut with a Garden Green marker. The sentiment comes from Lots of Joy.
The lovely star embellishment is from last year. The card was cased from Christina MacLaren.
Night of Navy and Garden Green, Whisper White and Smokey Slate make a great combination here. The card base is Tip Top Taupe.

This lovely card was cased from Stamppaperscissors. Colours are Night of Navy, Mint Macaron and Lost Lagoon. Card base is Whisper White. Sentiment comes from Lots of Joy.
Sky was embossed with silver stars and then brayered with Soft sky, Marina Mist and Night of Navy. Card base is Night of Navy.
Tip Top Taupe and Whisper White team together in this card. Trees are stamped and cut with the Peaceful Pines bundle.
Tip Top Taupe, Pool Party and Soft Sky. Lovely combination cased from Shawn Stamps.
I used small dots of the fine tipped glue stick on the Night of Navy card and then sprinkled over Dazzling Diamonds. The houses are from the Sleigh Ride die set. Super simple. The sentiment is from Jingle all the Way.

This was cased from Understand Blue. The secret here is to brayer the night sky in Tempting Turquoise, Night of Navy and a touch of Blackberry Bliss at the top. Then drop a few drops of water on the sky and you get this great marbled effect. Sentiment comes from Wonderland.

This was cased from the catalogue. Love the design. Colours are Pear Pizzaz, Mossy Meadow and Always Artichoke. The strip at the bottom is vellum from the Vellum paper stack.

This simple card is Sahara Sand and Whisper White. A few stars were stamped in White Craft ink using the White Christmas set. The sentiment is from Peaceful Pines.

For something a bit different I did a few cards using more vibrant colours. Tempting Turquoise, Garden Green and Daffodil Delight for the sky and hills and Pumpkin Pie for the sentiment circle. Sentiment is from Lots of Joy.

Colours this time are Bermuda Bay, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip and Daffodil Delight. Sentiment again from Lots of Joy

This Die set has got to be a favourite for this Christmas!

Hope you are starting to work on your Christmas cards!

Bordering blooms and sponging

In is card I mounted all 4 photopolymer stamps close together onto the largest acrylic block. I hen embossed the design onto Very Vanilla card stock and sponged it with Pool Party and Soft Suede. I gradually built up the colours which I applied randomly over the square card front. Once I was satisfied I rubbed it gently over with a tissue to remove the excess ink from the embossed areas, added some string and cut an oval sentiment from Sassy Salutations.

Sponging

I think sponging must be one of the most relaxing techniques of all. In this one I embossed images in white from Butterfly Basics and Awesomely Artistic and then sponged the middle of the card in pool party and the outside in Lost Lagoon. The sentiment is from Wetlands.
Again the images were embossed in white. The stamp set this time was Border Blooms. The background was then sponged in Pool Party, Soft Suede and Pear Pizzaz. Sentiment was from Sassy Salutations.
My favourite. Cased from tes4inspiration.blogspot.com.au. You mask off the panel and then sponge So Saffron over the panel. Tear some mountain ranges into a piece of scrap card and use this to create a mountain range in Pear Pizzaz and do the same below with Soft Suede. Use Pumpkin Pie at the top. Stamps are from Thoughts and Prayers. Great video on this here. The sentiment was framed using the great new Tags and Labels thinlit dies.
This is called the Northern Light technique. The card was cased from Amanda Mertz. It is so easy. Turn the card and sponge Marina Mist and Perfect Plum in lines. Presto! Tree and Sentiment are from Sheltering Tree.
This lovely card was cased from Dawn Olchefeske. The stamps are from Summer Silhouettes. Great video on how it was done here
Card above was cased from Craftingclare.blogspot.com. Sky was sponged in Soft sky and headland was sponged using a piece of card with a segment torn out to give a shape like the headland. This was also used to sponge the water in Soft Sky. The headland was sponged in So Saffron. Pear Pizzaz was used for the grass and highlights stamped with the small grass detail from Sheltering trees. Tree and sentiment from same set.
A Michelle Zindorf case again.
This was cased from Nicole Wilson. It was embossed in white and then masked. The panel was then sponged in Tempting Turquoise, and Cajun Craze. Leaves were stamped from Kinda Eclectic and the sentiment from Butterfly Basics. The banner was made with the new Triple Punch.

Soft suede was used for this background. Love this stamp from World of Dreams.

I stamped Serene Silhouttes three times in Versamark and then heat embossed in clear on Whisper White cardstock. I then sponged Daffodil Delight in the bottom right corner, Pear Pizzaz diagonally across above the Daffodil and then Always Artichoke in the top left corner. I blended these colours a fair bit where they overlapped. I used Soft Suede at the bottom. Then I stamped more of the stamp randomly over the embossed ones. I did some dots in the top corner but wished I hadn't. Last step was to wipe over with a tissue.

Must stop sponging and do something else!

Crazy About You

Bermuda Bay is such a striking colour for a card I think. I don't use it enough! The Pumpkin Pie flower was stamped from Crazy about You and punched with the Flower Medallion punch. The other two flowers are Daffodil Delight and Rich Razzleberry punched with the Scallop punch. The Sentiment is from the same stamp set and the HAPPY is made with one of the Hello You thinlit dies. This stamp set and the dies go together.
The new embossing folder for the top portion of the Very Vanilla card front and the flowers are made in the same way as the above. The leaves are stamped in Mossy Meadow.

Bermuda Bay again. The Flourish was embossed in white using Flowering Flourishes. The white flower was punched from the Scallop punch and petals cut to the centre. The other two were inked using the Babywipe technique discussed elsewhere on this blog. The sentiment is from the Blessed by God set.

This card was cased from Wendy Johnson. It uses Perfect Plum for the card base and the flowers are stamped using Crazy About You in Pink Pirouette, Perfect Plum, Rich Razzleberry and Wisteria Wonder. Leaves are stamped in Rich Razzleberry, The sentiment is from Hello You thinlits.
